The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) is the world organisation promoting global health through the advancement of pharmacy, the pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy education and workforce development. FIP gathers over 150 national associations of pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists and pharmaceutical educators and represents over four million pharmacists. Through our advocacy work and partnerships – namely with the World Health Organization, with whom we have been in official working relations since 1948 – FIP strives towards an ever greater contribution of pharmacists to universal health coverage and more sustainable, efficient and resilient health systems.
The Vision of FIP is for a world where everyone benefits from access to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and health technologies, as well as from pharmaceutical care services provided by pharmacists, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. As such, a priority area for FIP is supporting healthy ageing and the maintenance of good health and quality of life across the life course through the effective management of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), support of adherence to treatments and promotion of vaccination and immunisation across all ages. Some of our key publications on these topics can be found at www.fip.org/publications.
