Overview of Activities
Trusted, respectful relationships that help build the capacity of others are at the core of the V4L program activities.
- The World Coalition on Adult Vaccination serves as a global knowledge exchange and dissemination outreach platform. The Coalition comprises NGOs and academia, clinicians, public health and scientific experts and associations collaborating on a common agenda around a life course approach to vaccination.
- The IFA Expert Centre enables citizens and associated press to contact and learn from some of the world’s leading thought leaders on adult vaccines, public health and patient engagement. Experts are featured in Expert Spotlights, where IFA highlights timely and relevant content that shares insights on current news or trending topics related to adult vaccination.
- V4L Expert Meetings on adult vaccination are convened with local and regional experts as a mechanism to establish a common agenda and voice that can respond to a unique set of barriers. The meetings help to build bridges across sectors and disciplines and lead to consensus statements, published articles, policy-related meetings with decision-makers, awareness-raising activities, and changes to policy.
- WHO Frameworks and Agendas are informed including the:
- “Immunization Agenda 2030: A Global Strategy to Leave No One Behind” where IFA advocated for increased focus on older people;
- “WHO Meeting on Immunization in Older Adults” where IFA participated in the meeting resulting in an article published in Vaccine; and
- “WHO Report on Ageing and Health”, where IFA advocated for inclusion of vaccination which was consolidated and led to the Global Strategy and Action Plan on Ageing, endorsed by 194 member states.
